There have been many Japanese business activities in Australia. The Japanese business community holds various activities and networking events around Sydney. However, we rarely see many female professionals at those events. This posed a question for us – where are the business women in Australia-Japan business?
The Australia Japan Businesswomen’s Network was officially launched in 2023 with the aim of providing opportunities for women in Australia-Japan business to expand their professional network. Without a doubt, there are a lot of women working and pursuing their career goals in Australia and Japan. We believe it is important to create an environment for them to meet like-minded professionals as the traditional Japanese business environment can be male-dominant due to its culture.
As Umeko Tsuda, the pioneer of education for women in the Meiji era, said –
By having great ambitions and sharing sympathy with many other people, anyone can achive a goal
